Blue and white just-for-fun invitation reveal! I am loving creating these to really showcase what we can do right here in our studio. If you missed some of the behind the scenes, skip back to Monday’s post!

For a little explanation, this suite was flat printed as it really needs to be when you’re just making one for fun like I am. It would be extra amazing in letterpress 😍

But even with that, it required:

💛 A diecut and diecutting machine
💛 a cricut that we manipulate using design programs to cut what we want (in this case, to create a smaller version of the die cut I had)
💛 a grommet press
💛 multiple printers as the invitation printer doesn’t do envelopes and vise versa
💛 adhesive
💛 paper cutter
💛 heat process for duplexing the invitation
💛 other miscellaneous tools and supplies

I thought it might be helpful to understand how much goes into an invitation suite. It’s not always obvious from the pretty picture!

Part One of a just-for-fun blue and white invitation design! I like to roam around the office a bit and see what we haven’t used and think about how I might like to use them if it were just up to me.

One note is that sometimes in these videos i’ll make something in a way that wouldn’t necessarily be the plan if we were doing a whole order like that. But when you’re making just one of something, it’s the best way to go and a great way to visualize the possibilities.

Definitely one of the most fun seating charts we’ve ever done! This couple wanted to feature their favorite burger restaurants by naming their tables after them. I got to illustrate all six of them and then we printed them on acrylic for that extra level of shine and polish. So yes, share all your unusual ideas - we’re here for it!

The next installment in our just-for-fun invitation series: a New Years Eve inspired design 🥂

I thought it would be fun to have confetti that didn’t make people cringe when they open the invitation and it goes everywhere 😂 So I designed this box-like invitation that becomes interactive and festive! It goes in a 3d envelope that’s also very unique.

Giving credit where it’s due: my daughter punched out the confetti for me 🙂 I would have liked to do more for this suite but we’re lucky I even got it done with all the madness of holiday break and kiddos.
