After we’ve really gotten to know you and your needs, we will provide a quote for your project and the specific deliverables that make sense for you. A deposit is required at that time and then we’re ready to really get down to business!

Depending on your individual needs and requirements for your web design, we may suggest different platforms to host your website. If you already have a web host, email, or domains purchased, we of course take all of that into consideration to create a solution that makes the most sense for you.  We can and do work frequently on Wordpress, Shopify, and Squarespace.

Brand and Aesthetic. It’s important to note that a logo design is an entirely separate process from a web development project.  If you don’t have a fully considered brand yet, you may want to begin there and then move on to the web design process.  Whether Dodeline created your logo or not, we will take your brand guidelines and translate it into web friendly typefaces, coloring, and overall feel.

In this phase, we will work on laying out the navigation and overall page structure of your new website.  See the example below for an idea of how that might look.  Once we have our map finalized, you can use it to develop your content for the respective pages.

While we don’t have to have everything all at once, it’s important to remember that a website is really only as good as the content. You will need to use the sitemap that we’ve created together to create simple Word documents with the content needed to convey your message.

This is an often overlooked element of solid web design. While stock photos are certainly available and are a great resource, solid photography is imperative to an eye-catching design.  We always encourage people to think about websites and social media accounts that appeal them the most and why, and 99% of the time, beautiful photos are a bit part of it.  For many of our clients, we help develop a shot list and coordinate brand photography shoots to get what we need to make the finished website one-of-a-kind.  At the very least, get a professional headshot!

With the above elements all fully considered, we have what we need to create a test site. In this environment, we can review the design, content, and function to be sure that everything flows perfectly and exemplifies your small business.

After we’ve fully filled out the test site, we often pause to get on a call or have you in the office to show you the ins and outs of managing your website. This is especially helpful for ecommerce website owners.  At that time we can also create a punch list of final edits needed on our end.  Don’t want to manage your own site?  That’s okay, we have monthly options for that too!

We’ll select a date and time that suits everyone and either “switch the site on” or move it from the test environment to the final location. You can shout it from the rooftops (or ya know, an Instagram post) and we will too!
